Rush will benefit you as you will be able to ask the brothers (don't forget, all of the brothers have been through the experience that you are about to embark on) any question that you might have about what you should be doing, which professors are good, hints for how to succeed in certain classes, what past tests and exams were like, and which courses are truly hard and which ones are truly easier. Therefore, we encourage you to participate in fraternity rush. Here are a few helpful tips for rushing:

  • ENJOY YOUR RUSH: Rush is meant to be fun, so take it that way. If you do what you want to do, then rush will be a fun and enriching experience. Remember, all of us are in this to meet new people, and that is always fun.
  • WHAT ARE YOUR GOALS?: What do you want out of a fraternity? Do you want to be leader? Do you want to be recognized as part of a group? Do you want to establish a network of connections to be used once you graduate? Do you want to make new friends? Ask yourself what you want, because that will make it easier for us to know who you are.
  • JUST BE YOURSELF: Rush with us because we fit your personality. There are always guys in the fraternity who will have similar interests to you. That is what we want to know about - who you are. We don't care about the car you drive or the designer label on your jeans.
  • LEARN FROM RUSH: Get as much out of rush as possible. Ask questions about school and the campus. Try to meet new friends that you normally would not get a chance to meet.
  • MEET AS MANY PEOPLE AS YOU CAN: Spend as much time with us as you can during rush. This will give us ample time to get to know you and will also prove to us that you're interested and committed to the brotherhood. Also, try and meet all of the members and don't be afraid to either introduce yourself or ask us to introduce you around. Remember, one or two members can't get you in to the fraternity even if you are the "Big Man On Campus". It is especially important that you meet the Rush Chairman and other officers. They can have a lot of influence.
  • BE AVAILABLE DURING RUSH WEEK: We have included information on our rush schedule, so that you can stop by and meet us, however we still need your help as well. Come to our table at the Greek Open Houses Sunday August 17th, because that will be one of our first opportunities to meet you. Also, make sure that we have your name, phone, and room numbers. That way we will be able to contact you.
  • DON'T GET DISCOURAGED: If a friend of yours gets a call from us and you don't, don't panic, it may be that we just don't know who you are and that you are around. Please do not hesitate to give one of us a call (try for the Rush Chairman), you may be the member we have been looking for all along.
