Project Information:
Soon we will be assembling an AIAA flight simulator lab in E1. The lab will consist of a high performance computer loaded with Microsoft Flight Simulator X, X-Plane, and RealFlight. It will also feature a flight stick, 6-axis rudder pedals, thrust box, and a RC flight controller.
This equipment will enable students to train and get comfortable with flying different types of aircraft. In AIAA, this will be especially useful in training members on RC planes without incurring real damage to our planes. Furthermore, X-Plane will provide students with the ability to design and fly aircraft with realistic flight characteristics. This will be useful for any aerospace students in the 436 design class.
