The Fall 2002 Meeting of the Midwest Society for Programming Languages and Systems (MSPLS) will take place at Robert Morris College. The purpose of the Society's meetings is to provide a forum for presenting and discussing new ideas and ongoing work, while encouraging interaction between researchers in this geographical area. MSPLS has a tradition of being an excellent place for new researchers to give first talks on their work, giving them practice in presentation skills.

This workshop acts as a local forum for researchers and practitioners interested in Programming Languages and Systems. It is an opportunity to present and observe the latest research, results, and ideas in these areas. It will include a number of streams.

Papers in all areas of Programming Languages and Systems are invited.   Submitted papers may present significant final results or describe interesting research in progress.  Participation of graduate students is specially encouraged.    Papers should range in length from four to eight pages including figures and references using the AAAI format available from the AAAI web page at http://www.aaai.org/Publications/Author/authorinstructions.html. The authors will retain the copyright.

If you are interested in presenting a talk at the MSPLS meeting, prepare a title for your talk, names of authors and speaker, and a brief abstract.  Submit this information via email as an attachment to fakkawi@smtp.rmcil.edu by November 10.

Abstracts and papers will be accepted on the basis of appropriateness for MSPLS presentation and availability of presentation time slots.

We also encourage you to submit a full paper. The abstracts and full papers will be published as a technical report in the series of Illinois Institute of Technology Computer Science Department, and distributed to registered attendees as a hardcopy.

The WORKSHOP will begin at 10:30AM, starting with an invited talk. Workshop presentations will continue through the afternoon with the meeting ending in an informal dinner at a local restaurant.  Information about the schedule, travel arrangement details, etc. can be found at the following URL www.iit.edu/~akkawif/workshops/mspls

All papers must be received no later than November 10, 2002. Papers may be submitted as a Microsoft Word (preferred), LaTeX, PDF, or Postscript document. Authors will be notified of acceptance or rejection by November 10, and final camera-ready copies of accepted papers will be due on November 15, 2002.  Please email your papers to fakkawi@smtp.rmcil.edu
