Arch 225 - CAD IN PRACTICE(Kearns)

Exercise 5

Scan through your drawings up to this point. Make external block files for each element which could be reused. For instance, plumbing fixtures, furniture, doors, windows. Use care in naming these blocks and store them in an appropriately named folder or folders in your directory structure.

If you have not already done so, draw your basic furniture to scale. (sofa, desk, chair, filing cabinet) Choose one piece of furniture from your plan and draw the plan, front + side elevations. Write these drawings to external blocks.

Using attribute blocks, create symbols for elevation markers and drawing labels. Use these symbols to properly lable and reference your plan and elevation Continue modularizing your drawings by creating an external block with attribute definitions from the title block you created in Assignment 4

For further exploration, begin to give your 2d line drawing you had previously imported into 3d Studio Viz the appropriate z dimension. You should experiment with different combinations of 3d dimensional primitives and extrusion modifiers.
