IN PRACTICE(Kearns)
Exercise 6
Make sure that you have setup your symbol and drawing libraries for
the proper management of external block files, reusable detail drawings,
page setup resources, etc. The furniture block files created last week
should be stored here! Using the title block file created previously,
replace the titleblock in your files by xref instead of block files. Then
determine which method of drawing structure you would like to utilize,
multiple sheets per file or a single file/sheet. Setup your drawings accordingly.
Survey the different walls in your chosen site. Notate the walltypes in
your plan drawing to reflect each unique condition. Utilize attribute
blocks for all symbols.
Choose atleast one walltype, and utilizing graphic standards or similar
resource, draw the section detail. The drawing should be properly layered,
linetype'd, hatched, etc. Because this drawing would likely be used across
multiple projects in a single firm, properly dimension and notate the
detail drawing (all elements should be called out) in modelspace. Save
the drawing as a separate .dwg file and xref the detail into your plan
drawings … don't forget to properly label the detail.
