This small addition to the Lynn Meadows Discovery Center in Gulfport, Mississippi, was a response to the ravages of Hurricane Katrina and our first project as an organization. It is a 900 square foot space that served as an interim space for childrens' use in the fairly immediate aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. The design process was completed by a group of devoted students and ATM faculty advisor Frank Flury through the winter of 2005-2006. Parts were then prefabricated in a warehouse on the Chicago campus and then trucked down to Mississippi, where the building was completed in Summer 2006. It was much appreciated, as evidenced by the outpouring of donations and help received while it was being built. We took a trip in December 2007 to check on it, and discovered that the building still stands on the campus of the Discovery Center, in pristine condition. It is now called "Frank's House."
