Dear Bahá’í Youth!

The Local Spiritual Assembly of Chicago has established a Youth Desk to further facilitate youth activities in the Chicago area. You are invited to utilize every resource at the youth desk.

What is the Youth Desk?

The Youth Desk serves as a coordinating team between the youth of Chicago and its Local Spiritual Assembly (LSA).  The Youth Desk will assist in organizing youth gatherings and activities.  The Youth Desk will collect statistical data and will keep up-to-date information about activities in the Chicago area, especially those pertaining to the youth. The youth also has various resources for the Bahá’í campus Associations. All the resources and information are available to every youth in the Chicago area. At present, the LSA of Chicago has appointed Andrew Johnson, Sholeh Loehle, and Mihdi Vahedi to work in coordination with the Assembly’s youth liaison, Andalib Khelgati.

What Gatherings and Activities?

The Youth Desk has formed a database of all Chicago Bahá’í Youth, which will be used to help coordinate activities and publicize events.  Some potential sector and cluster-wide activities include:

·        A Chicago-area college club weekend

·        Intensive Ruhi training series for Chicago youth

·        On-going series of Youth Workshops

·        Youth mentorship and more…

How can I Participate?

The Youth Desk is a resource for all Bahá’ís in Chicago.  The Youth Desk is open to all ideas, opinions and concerns that pertain to the youth of the community. Let the Youth Desk know what you are doing!  Are you hosting devotionals?  Are you going to a Ruhi class?  Are you teaching a children’s class?  Is there something you would like to see the youth of Chicago involved in? Please cc your event announcements to the Youth Desk. This will keep the information up-to-date, which will in turn be used by other youth including visitors to our community.
