Classes will consist of lectures, demonstrations and hands-on tutorials. Assignments based on the material covered will be issued each week and are to be completed outside of class. These assignments will be due 24 hours before the next class time and are to be posted to the student’s personal website. Readings and documentation, when announced, will be available for download from the course’s Blackboard site. Each assignment will be graded for content and quality on a ten-point scale. The final grade will be based on the percentage of available points. Late assignments may be completed prior to final website presentation for half the available credit. Factors such as attendance, punctuality and participation will also affect the student’s grade. Attendance will be taken at the beginning of each class. If a student is late to class without and excuse (see student handbook), it will count as half an absence. The student’s final grade will be reduced by one letter grade after two unexcused absences. Three unexcused absences will result in a failing grade. Note: Students are required to keep multiple backups of their work, and excuses for lost work will not be tolerated. |
