• Chemistry of Heterocyclic Compounds. • Synthesis of novel fluorine-containing compounds, including new reagents for the selective introduction of fluorine into organic molecules. • Studies on the effect of fluorine substitution on the physical properties and chemical reactivities of aliphatic and aromatic compounds. • The unusual chemistry of polyfluoroaromatic compounds. • The important role that fluorine plays in biochemistry and medicinal chemistry. • Lithium-ion battery electrolytes and additives. • Hydrogen storage materials.
