"The Shop"

The machine shop is located in the basement of the Life Science building. We can be found on the main campus of Illinois Institute of Technology.

Our shop is ideal for helping students develop their research projects.

The shop has CAD solid modeling capabilities.

The shop supports Auto-cad, Mechanical Desktop, and Auto-Desk Inventor

These programs can be directly interfaced with a numerical control vertical Machining center (VMC)

"The shop," has a Fadal VMC-15 machining center, which is ideal for small proto type machining projects.

"The Shop" has a Leblond lathe with a 10" chuck and a Bridgeport milling machine.

and the usual assortment of drill presses grinders etc for cutting metal. Students, faculty and staff of the BCPS department have priority in working with machining projects. But we encourage others students and researchers to utilize "The shops" capabilities.
