Dr. Chang joined IIT in 1995 and received the IIT University Excellence in Teaching Award in 1999. From 1993 to 1995, he was assistant professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at Rochester Institute of Technology. He was an analog IC designer at Texas Instruments from 1983 to 1984. He was a Member of Technical Staff at the Microelectronics Center of North Carolina during 1986 to 1988. From 1988 to 1990, he was a Member of Technical Staff at AT&T Bell Laboratories, Allentown, Pennsylvania.

Dr. Chang has been serving on the technical committee of IEEE International ASIC Conference since 1994. He also served as the Secretary and Treasurer in 1995 and the Vendor Liaison Chair in 1996 for the International ASIC Conference.

Dr. Chang's research on Dynamic Memory Management was featured on slashdot.org in Feb. 26, 2000.
