Thomas Cottenier is a PhD student at the Computer Science department of the
<a href="http://www.iit.edu" target="_none">Illinois Institute of Technology</a>, Chicago, IL, USA. After graduating form
his Ingénieur Civil degree in telecommunications, from the <a href="http://www.ulb.ac.be" target="_none">Université Libre
de Bruxelles</a> ( ULB ), Brussels, Belgium, Thomas had the opportunity to pursue a MS
in Computer Engineering at IIT with a fellowship from the <a href="http://www.baef.be" target="_none">Belgian American
Educational Foundation</a> ( BAEF ). Thomas' current interests are distributed systems,
concurrent programming, software engineering and embedded & real-time
systems. Thomas is a member of the <a href="http://www.iit.edu/~concur" target="_none">Concurrent Programming Research Group</a>,
and is currently in the development process of an aspect-oriented distributed composition platform that targets highly dynamic
service-oriented environments. </font>
