Tooling along
By now, you are all more than familiar with Microsoft
PowerPointTM. This design exercise focuses on enhancing
PowerPoint's functionality. Working in teams, develop designs for the
following:
-
An improved line tool or an improved arc tool. Briefly outline what
functionality you have added and how your improved tool is to be used.
-
Two new tools. Briefly outline what the tools do, how they are to be used,
and why you think they are important.
Produce the following deliverables for the rough cut meeting:
-
A ten-minute presentation outlining your team's designs.
-
A brief memo (1-3 pages) that summarizes your presentation. Take care to
ensure that this memo uses both imagery and text to capture the essential
elements of your designs. Be sure to cite the sources of any ideas you
incorporate in your designs.
-
Similar deliverables will be required for the final presentation, although
your team will have a little more flexibility in how to present their proposal.
