Diabetes Research @ IIT
Diabetes is a serious, lifelong condition and one of the leading causes of death and disability in the United States. Illinois Institute of Technology currently conducts research into the treatment and prevention of diabetes in a number of innovative ways. IIT’s Institute for Science, Law and Technology addresses the ethical and legal issues raised by diabetes treatment. The Engineering Center for Diabetes Research and Education at IIT conducts biomedical research into new treatment options for diabetes, particularly for Type 2 diabetes. The Chicago-Kent Health and Disability Law Clinic represents diabetics on a number of matters to ensure proper treatment, including insurance and employment disputes.
