  • You can estimate what you will need to get on subsequent tests in order to obtain a desired average AVE, by using the following equation:
  • Math 151: .18*(T1+T2+T3)+.26*F+.10*H+.10*L = AVE
  • Math 120: .30*(T1+T2+F)+.10*HWK = AVE
  • Note to homework graders: On the weeks for which tests are scheduled, no homework is due. There will instead be a double assignment the following week. Please make sure that the assignment for the Monday prior to the test is graded and returned in time for me to distribute it to the students by at least the Friday before the test.

General Homework Instructions for Math 120,151,152,251 252

Weekly assignments will be finalized each Wednesday or Friday and will be due at the beginning of class on the following Monday. Each weekly grade will be based on ten problems chosen by the grader. Each problem will be graded on the basis of 0, .5 or 1. At the end of the semester, the grader will calculate each student's homework grade by dropping the two lowest weekly grades and averaging the rest. For the sake of the grader, who is a student like yourselves, late homework is discouraged and will only be accepted at his or her discretion.
