GENERAL EDUCATION PROGRAM - Please consult the General Education section of the current IIT Bulletin for complete requirements.

    1. Basic Writing Proficiency - Choose ENG 151.

    2. Humanities - Choose one course from the following: ENG 240, 251, 252, 253, 254, 255, 256, 260, 261, 270, 271, 272, 275; HIS 130, 131, 132, 170, 171, 172; or PHI 151, 251, 261.

    3. Social Sciences - Choose one course from the following: ANT 151, 260; ECO 150, 210, 251, 252; GEG 202, 203; 204, 220; PLT 150, 151, 155, 160, 255, 261, 281; PSY 151, 175, 250, 251, 255, 260, 265, 271, 275; or SOC 101, 151, 240, 251.

    4. Choose one course from section B or section C or from the following: ART 151, 155, 171, 172, 173; ENG 276; HUM 150; MUS 151, 153, 171, 172; PHI 158, 255; or THE 151.

    5. Science Electives - A minimum of eleven (11) semester hours is required. Two courses must be in the same field and at least one course must be in a different field. Choose from the following: ANS 110; BIO 110, 120, 130, 137, 157, 158, 240; CHM 115, 164; EAS 170, 171, 180; GEG 101; GEL 101; PHY 210, 220, 280, 281; or PTS 103, 104.

    6. Mathematics - A minimum of five (5) semester hours is required. Choose from the following: MAT 106, 150, 158, 161, 170, 220. Both MAT 170 and 220 are highly recommended.

    7. Computer Science - Required: CIS 117. Recommended: One course beyond CIS 118.

    8. Free or Technical Electives - Thirty-three (33) semester hours of approved courses. Please contact IIT's Office of Educational Services for additional information.
