- GENERAL EDUCATION
PROGRAM - Please consult the General Education section of the current
IIT Bulletin for complete requirements.
- Basic
Writing Proficiency - Students must show basic writing proficiency
by receiving a satisfactory score on the Writing Proficiency Examination
or by passing an English Composition course.
- Humanities
- Choose one course from the following: ENG 101, 102, 103, 105,
113, 114, 121, 122, 123, 231, 285, 288; HIS 121, 122, 141, 142, 151, 152;
HUM 151, 152; or PHL 101, 103, 104, 105, 106.
- Social
Sciences - Choose one course from the following: ANT 101, 102,
103, 105, 150, 201, 275; ECO 102, 103, 150; GEO 104, 105, 106; PSC 150,
151, 184; PSY 100, 105, 201, 210, 216, 222, 228, 238, 245; SSC 190; or
SOC 100, 120, 131, 175, 180, 201, 210, 225, 231.
- Choose one course from section B or section C or from the following:
ARC 210; ART 110, 111, 112, 114, 210; ENG 170; HIS 155, 156, 191, 192;
HUM 101, 102, 104, 105, 131, 165; IDS 101, 102; or MUS 110, 215, 216.
- Science Electives - A minimum of thirteen (13) hours is required
to fulfill this requirement. An Applied Mathematics major should complete
PHY 106 and additional courses chosen from the following to total 13 credit
hours: AST 100, 101, 102; BIS 100, 101, 102, 103, 104, 105, 110, 111,
112, 122, 190, 234; CHM 100, 110, 132, 140, 141; PHY 107.
