Students will be expected to take 4 of the following 5 courses:

CS331 - Data Structures and Algorithms
CS425 - Database Organization
CS487 - Software Engineering
CS445 - Object-Oriented Design and Programming
CS4xx - Cross-listed with CS587 (Software Project Management)

Minor in Information Technology

By fulfilling the requirements for the minor in information technology, a student will be prepared to apply the knowledge acquired in the program to contribute to the operation and administration of engineering projects in which information systems play a significant role. The additional courses stipulated for this minor provide working experience on the hardware and software of information systems, as well as the functioning of such systems in typical engineering environments. In the course projects, emphasis is placed on the application of the acquired skills to solving practical problems.

A minimum of four courses is required:

ECE 242 - Digital Systems (required)

One course from Group A and two other courses from the either group:
Group A:
ECE 429 - Introduction to VLSI Design
ECE 441 - Microcomputers
ECE 446 - Advanced Logic Design

Group B:
ECE 448 - Mini/Micro Computer Programming
ECE 449 - Object-Oriented Programming and Computer Simulation

Minor in Finance

The minor in finance is designed for students who want to begin their career in business management or finance in a technology business, or consulting or business analysis related to technology businesses. Finance is concerned with financial decision-making and financial instruments and markets. Students learn how to apply economic and financial theory to obtain solutions to financial problems, such as choosing among alternative investment projects and evaluating proposed investment strategies. Courses focus on managing investment portfolios, managing financial institutions, short-term financial management, and corporate finance.

Students will be expected to take 4 of the following 5 courses

FIN 520 Corporate Finance
FIN 521 Investment and Portfolio Management
FIN 524 Cases in Financial Engineering and Policy
FIN 525 Financial Risk Management
IB   525 International Finance

Minor in Marketing

The minor in marketing is designed for students who want to begin their career in marketing, product management, business development or sales in a technology business. Participants learn how to understand and identify customers' needs and wants. More importantly, they learn to look at business problems from a customer-centric viewpoint. An understanding of marketing is essential in today's highly competitive marketplace. Participants will be exposed to cutting-edge tools and techniques for creating business value by leveraging a deep knowledge of the customer.

Students will be expected to take 4 of the following 5 courses.
