La Victoire, Haiti
Sustainable Water Supply & Distribution System
The design and implementation of a sustainable water supply and distribution system for
the rural town of La Victoire, Haiti. This project entails further surveying of existing
defunct system, establishing a water committee, and the design and implementation of a
sustainable water supply and distribution system. The ultimate success of the project will
be monitored by the local NGO Haiti Outreach which is currently working on a similar water
system a town over in Pignon. Like Pignon’s proposed design, this water system will initially
contain water kiosks where potable water will be sold at a price calculated to maintain and
expand they system; ultimately expanding to metered private connections. The system
will be designed to WHO standards and be sized appropriately to meet the demand for
the next 20 years.
