                         Funding Has Arrived !

Soaring Club Description   

    The IIT Soaring Club provides ground instruction and inexpensive access to flying lessons for students interested in earning their glider pilot's license. The club flies out of Hinckley Airport, west of the Chicago metropolitan area, or Lake Village (south of Chicago). The club is open to all IIT students, and to ROTC students in schools affiliated with IIT's ROTC units.


In The Works  

    The Soaring Club would like to schedule at least 2 trips to the glider port before the end of the semester. The following are the dates that are under consideration.

Date: Saturday April 14, 2000................ Rain Date: Sunday April 15, 2000

Date: Saturday April 21, 2000................ Rain Date: Sunday April 22, 2000

Date: Saturday April 28, 2000................ Rain Date: Sunday April 29, 2000

Date: Saturday May 5, 2000..................... Rain Date: Sunday May 6, 2000

Soaring Funds   

       Our request for funding from the Student Activity Fund was approved on March 21st by SLC. Any IIT student who has passed the FAA glider exam will be entitled to 4 subsidized flights this season. There will also be funds available for any individual who would be interested in taking an introductory glider flight.
