Soaring Club

Soaring Club Description
The IIT Soaring Club
provides ground instruction and inexpensive access to flying lessons for students
interested in earning their glider pilot's license. The club flies out
of Hinckley Airport, west of the Chicago metropolitan area, or Lake Village
(south of Chicago). The club is open to all IIT students, and to ROTC students
in schools affiliated with IIT's ROTC units.
The Soaring
Club would like to schedule at least 2 trips to the glider port before
the end of the semester. The following are the dates that are under
consideration.

Soaring Funds
Our request for funding from the Student Activity Fund was approved on March 21st by SLC. Any IIT student who has passed the FAA glider exam will be entitled to 4 subsidized flights this season. There will also be funds available for any individual who would be interested in taking an introductory glider flight. For more information e-mail any of the three Soaring Club officers listed below.
