Office of Fraternity & Sorority Life
Greek organizations have been a part of the campus for more than 100 years, dating back to shortly after Armour Institute was founded. "Going Greek" remains a popular option for many students at Illinois Tech.

Membership provides opportunities for leadership development, scholastic achievement and life-long friendships. We encourage all IIT students to learn more about the opportunity of membership in a fraternity or sorority.

A Letter From the Director
The college years are rich with opportunities and experiences for every student.  As the Director of Fraternity & Sorority Life, it is my pleasure to introduce you to the Greek community and all that it has to offer.

The Greek community at IIT is focused on giving students the chance to learn both inside and outside of the classroom.  Fraternities and sororities all uphold their own missions through brotherhood and sisterhood activities.  These groups also concentrate heavily on the values of their organizations by participating in regular philanthropic and community service events.  Each fraternity and sorority has its own operating structure and allows students to develop valuable leadership and interpersonal skills.  Academics and scholarship is an integral part of the Greek system, and the community works hard to uphold rigorous scholastic standards as a part of the daily functioning.  Finally, membership in a fraternity or sorority is a lifelong benefit.  Becoming a brother or sister of an organization will open doors through networking and close friendships that will last long after graduation from IIT.

IIT recognizes the value of the fraternity and sorority community on campus, and commits its support to the success of each organization.  An abundance of resources and support are available to all Greek organizations.  The university administration, national organizations, alumni board and house corporations all work together to ensure the continued growth and success of each organization.  As the Director of Fraternity and Sorority Life, it is my ultimate goal to allow the community to thrive, just as it has for the last 100 years.

With regards,

Erin A. Gray
