HSC is an international forum promoting understanding of Hindu culture and heritage. Though many different activities and projects, HSC provides opportunities for the growth of individuals and betterment of society. Started in May 1990, it has grown tremendously in its size and activities, with other 70 chapters and hundreds of members all over the United States and Canada. HSC has established an excellent network that spans the globe.
HSC was honored to have many great spiritual leaders bless our events and programs including Late Swami Chinmayananda, Jain Muni Sushil Kumar, Swami Sarvagatananda (RKM), Swami Jyotirmayananda and many more.
In 1993, HSC organized the Global Vision 2000Global Youth Conference, attended by over 2100 youth from around the world to celebrate the centenary of Swami Vivekananda’s Chicago address. In 1997, HSC sponsored and organized many programs around the world to commemorate the 50th anniversary of India’s independence. In 2003, HSC was the main organizer of Global Dharma Conference 2003, a unique conference with 60 plus world renowned speakers, participants from over 15 countries, and around 2000 people. It was the first ever conference of its type, organized solely by second generation Indian-American youth.
HSC has the distinction of the first organization outside of India involved in introducing courses related to Indian heritage in various universities, as well as in reviewing curriculum in courses/texts on Indian heritage.
