What is SCPI
-
SCPI (pronounced "skippy") is a common language for
the remote control of programmable instruments,
adopted by the test and measurement industry in 1990.
-
What is a logic analyzer
-
The Logic Analyzer is a test instrument used for developing,
debugging, and maintaining digital systems. A Logic Analyzer
can show the prior events that occured at probe
points when triggered by a predefined set of stimulus signals.
This is important in identifying the root cause of a problem.
-
What is a pattern generator
-
A pattern generator is a digital testing device used to generate
logical signals on one or more input pins at specified times.
The timing intervals for some pattern generators can be as
small as hundreds of picoseconds. Pattern generators are most
often used in conjunction with logic anlyzers to test complex
integrated circuits.

What is HP Vee
-
HP Vee is a visual programming language designed by Hewlett-Packard
for developing scientific and engineering applications.
HP Vee's visual style allows a dramatic decrease in prototyping
and coding time. Programs can be written in HP Vee by simply
choosing graphical icons and linking them together on the screen.
HP Vee has built in functionality to easily communicate
with scientific instruments either through simple graphical
instrument drivers or the SCPI command language. HP Vee also
supports standard programming functions, can execute PC based
programs, and even supports Windows DDE. In short, HP Vee
is a simple to learn and easy to use programming language,
especially suited for scientific and engineering applications
concerned with data capture and analysis.

What is the POC format
-
The POC (print-on-change) format is a simple file format that
describes the logic value changes on input and output pins
versus time. It is called POC because it only prints
out logic values when there is a change.
