Educational Talent Search
Location: 3901 S. State
Responsibilities
The Talent Search tutors will be responsible for working with students from DuSable High School and Hartigan elementary during school hours at lunch time. Tutors will also have the opportunity to meet the maximum number of hours through working with the after school program at the Elliott Donnelley Youth Center on Michigan and Pershing. Some students at the youth center are participants of Educational Talent Search and need the assistance of tutors. The majority of E.T.S. students are low-income and first generation. They are struggling in reading, mathematics, and science.
If you have a certain technique and/or enthusiasm in which you think these students can learn then this job is for you.

Position: Computer Specialist Intern
Basic Function
Provide support to the Assistant Coordinators of the Learning Center and offer technical assistance/support to local patrons who utilize the services.
Responsibilities
- Performs basic instruction to participants on the use of self-paced learning modules
- Provides tutorial services to community members on computer utilization, information technology usage, and education software
- Helps develop, plan, and execute outreach activities that promote the Learning Center's services among community members
- Works with Assistant Coordinators to organize and deliver mini seminars and presentations on topics that will educate community members on basic computer utilization, software application, and the uses of information technology (i.e Internet)

Phillips H.S. MSTA Program

Lab Assistants (2 positions): 20 hours per week Assembling and disassembling laboratory experiments at Wendell Phillips H.S. and IIT; responsible for the care of equipment (glassware and apparatus), preparation of solutions, maintaining chemical and equipment inventory. Qualifications: Must have completed two semesters of inorganic chemistry. More advanced courses preferred.
Technology Support Assistants (2 positions): 20 hours week troubleshooting network hardware and software, assisting in the instruction of Wendell Phillips High School MSTA students in basic computer usage i.e. word processing, graphical analysis, data base, web usage for research, and web page design. Qualifications: Basic computer Science.
