IIT Urban education Programs 1996/7
The Chicago Alliance for Minority Participation (ChAMP) is a Partnership of Chicago Area Community Colleges, Universities and Institutions with the
EHR Directorate of
The National Science Foundation.
The purpose of the Alliance is to increase the participation of traditionally underrepresentated groups in
science,
engineering, and math (SEM) disciplines.
Other agencies and foundations have also contributed to these programs which are so important to identify and educate the technological workforce that keeps this country needs to remain a world leader.

IIT ChAMP Programs for science, math, and engineering (SEM) majors:
IIT Precollege SEM Programs:
- The Early Identification Program (EID) for rising HS juniors.
- The Discovery Approach to Science eHancement Program (DASH) for rising HS freshmen and sophomores.
IIT Technology Programs:
- The Bachelor of Manufacturing Technology Program
(BMT) for AAS and AS graduates interested in continueing their education towards a career in manufacturing.
