The Chicago Alliance for Minority Participation is a Partnership of Chicago Area Universities and Institutions with The National Science Foundation. The purpose of the Alliance is to increase the participation of traditionally underrepresentated groups in science, engineering, and math (SEM) disciplines. One proven way to get students interested in graduate school is to involve them in the excitment of cutting edge original research. The hands on involvement in the discovery process builds self confidence and a provides the opprotunity to experience the thrill of discovery. Undergraduate research has always been important at IIT. The AMP Coalition allows IIT to offer these opportunities to students who often found the need to work precluded them from participating in the discovery process.

Staff and Professors involved in UG Research at IIT

pj Welcome to IIT's AMP Programs.

One of the best ways to convince students to go to graduate school
and get an advanced degree is to involve them in the discovery process.

Peter Johnson, Professor of Chemistry and IIT AMP Coordinator.
