The Chicago Alliance for Minority Participation (AMP), is a partnership of six Chicago-area universities.

This partnership consists of Chicago State University, DePaul University, Illinois Institute of Technology, Loyola University, Northwestern University, and the University of Illinois at Chicago.

Chicago AMP (ChAMP) is committed to increasing the number of underrepresented and underserved minorities enrolled in undergraduate and graduate science, engineering, mathematics, and technology disciplines(SMET).
The effectiveness of the Alliance is enhanced by the participation of leaders from national laboratories, corporations, state and local legislatures and community organizations who have an interest in and support the efforts of increasing the number of minorities in SMET.

The strength of Chicago AMP is derived from an existing network among major Alliance partners which enables students and faculty to participate in the most successful programs offered by each institution. AMP focuses specifically on three target areas essential to student success in SMET. These areas are transition, retention, and research. Strategies are implemented that assist students in adjusting to a higher education environment, in navigating gate-keeping courses, and understanding and participating in scientific research.
