4th Annual Undergraduate Research and Presentation Conference

Abstract Format Directions

Submit the abstract on disk and in a laser printed hard copy. Your abstract will be included in a booklet that will serve both as the program for the conference and a record of your presentation, so it is important that you follow the abstract guidelines carefully.

1. Your abstract should be two hundred to two hundred and fifty words. Please provide enough detail to enable the program committee to evaluate the work for categorization purposes. Try to match this type style (Times New Roman 12 pt) as much as possible.

2. Use 1.25 inch left and right margins.

3. Do not use a dot matrix printer for the final copy of the abstract. Be sure your copy is laser printed or letter quality.

4. Proofread your abstract carefully! Double-check any formulas and equations. Check for spelling and grammar mistakes.

5. The title of your abstract should be in ALL CAPS, bold, and centered. Under the title, type your name, underlined, followed by the name of your research advisor or project leader. On the next line, type the full name of your department. See example below.
