IIT IPRO day nets cash and prizesDozens of IIT students finished their semesters in style by showing off their work in the 5th Annual Undergraduate Research Conference and IPRO Projects Day, held May 5.Nearly 70 students competed in the poster presentation competition, in disciplines including biology, chemistry, architecture and psychology. The event culminated with an awards dinner, featuring an address from Vera Pless, professor of mathematics at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Cash awards were presented to the winners in each of the four categories: graduate research, undergraduate research, class projects, and IPRO's. The top winners were as follows: 1st Place Graduate Research: Jorge Abeid Neto, CAE 1st Place Undergraduate Research: Richard M. Buck, BCPS 1st Place IPRO: Web Site Design and Business Strategy for E- business applications 1st Place Class Projects: Professor Mandall's Chemistry 240 class Overall Excellence Award Alexander C.
