Short Term Housing:

Cost: $35.00/night
Located in the IIT residence halls, Short Term
Housing is available for incoming students who have not finalized their
housing arrangements and/or need a couple of
days to complete paperwork prior to moving into their new residence. An
individual stay in IIT Short Term Housing cannot exceed two nights.
Short term housing is availability is very limited and offered on a
first-come, first-served basis. Check in is available 24 hours per day
at the McCormick Student Village Community Desk. For more information,

Short Term Housing is $35.00 per night. Charges will be posted to
student accounts.
Luggage Storage:
Program Start Date 1/03/2011

Cost: No Fee
Luggage storage is available at no cost for incoming
students who have not finalized their housing arrangements and/or need
to store their property while they arrange accommodations. Students may
store luggage for the duration of the program; however, luggage can
only be placed in storage or retrieved during Housing & Residential
Services office hours, Monday – Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Drop-off
service is available in the housing office located in McCormick Student
Village. Luggage will be tagged and placed in a locked storage room
until the owner reclaims it. Repeated in-and-out access to luggage is

Hostelling
International
Chicago:
If you plan to arrive earlier than the opening of the residence halls,
or prior to the start of your apartment lease but do not have a room
assignment, temporary housing may be available at Hostelling
International Chicago. Maximum permitted stay is 2 weeks.
The hostel is conveniently located about 3 miles from IIT’s main campus
and is easily accessible by public transportation. For hostel

Local Hotels:
There are also a number of local hotels that provide discounted rates.
A number of Chicago area hotels offer discounted rates to IIT students,
