Dr. Ford

J. Kevin Ford, Ph.D.

J. Kevin Ford is a Professor of Psychology at Michigan State University. His major research interests involve improving training effectiveness through efforts to advance our understanding of training needs assessment, design, evaluation and transfer. Dr. Ford also concentrates on building continuous learning and improvement orientations within organizations. He has published over 50 articles, chapters, and technical reports and serves on the editorial board of Human Performance. He was the lead editor of a recent book on Improving Training Effectiveness in Work Organizations. He is an active consultant with private industry and the public sector on training, teamwork, and organizational development issues. He received his Ph.D. in Psychology from Ohio State University.

Dr. Kossek

Ellen Kossek, Ph.D.

Dr. Kossek is a Professor at Michigan State University and a leading researcher on employer support of work and family policies. She received her Ph.D. degree in Organizational Behavior from Yale University in 1987. Dr. Kossek's research addresses work/life integration, organizational behavior, organizational change, gender and diversity, globalization and multiculturalism, and human resource management.

Dr. Masztal

Jaci Jarrett Masztal, Ph.D.

Dr. Masztal is a Vice President with Burke Strategic Consulting Group. She is a licensed psychologist and holds a Ph.D. in Industrial/Organizational psychology. Dr. Masztal has a wealth of experience in employee surveys, organizational analysis, selection systems, management assessments and change management disciplines. Recent research efforts have focused on employee engagement and commitment, along with optimizing the retention of top performers. She also has been involved in the research and implementation of employee, customer, and organizational performance linkage analysis. Dr. Masztal has authored and co-authored in excess of 50 publications and industry presentations that combined her practical and educational research expertise. She has coauthored the book Journey to the Top.

Dr. McCloy

Rod McCloy, Ph.D.

Dr. McCloy is a Principal Staff Scientist at the Human Resources Research Organization (HumRRO). He received his Ph.D. in I/O psychology from the University of Minnesota in 1990, specializing in statistics and psychometrics. His experience with assessment and testing has spanned both cognitive and non-cognitive domains, and he has substantial experience with several large-scale assessment programs (e.g., ASVAB, GATB, NAEP). His recent research efforts include (a) unproctored, online, computer-adaptive tests; (b) methods for estimating interrater reliability in ill-structured measurement designs; (c) development of recruit quality indices for the U.S. Air Force; and (d) a meta-analysis of clerical tests, with emphasis on computer-administered measures.

Dr. Meyer

John Meyer, Ph.D.

Dr. Meyer received his Ph.D. from the University of Western Ontario in 1978. After spending three years at St. Thomas University in Fredericton NB, he returned to Western where he is now a Professor and Chair of the graduate program in Industrial/Organizational psychology. His research interests include organizational commitment, work motivation, organizational justice, leadership, and organizational change. Dr. Meyer's work has been published in leading journals in the field of I/O psychology and management. In addition, he has consulted with private and public organizations in Canada on issues related to his research, and has been invited to conduct seminars and workshops in Europe, Asia, and Australia.

Dr. Murphy

Kevin Murphy, Ph.D.

Dr. Murphy is a Professor of Psychology and Information Sciences and Technology, and the Director of the International Center for the Study of Terrorism at Pennsylvania State University. He received his Ph.D. degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from Penn State University in 1979. Dr. Murphy's research includes personnel selection and placement, performance appraisal, and honesty in the workplace. Current research projects focus on the role of contextual factors and rater goals on performance evaluations. In addition, Dr. Murphy has had many publications among which he edited a book entitled: Validity Generalization: A Critical Review.

Dr. David Pistrui

David Pistrui, Ph.D.

Dr. David Pistrui is the Director of Entrepreneurship and Innovation and Coleman Foundation Chair in Entrepreneurship at Illinois Institute of Technology. Dr. David Pistrui has held a number of scholarly appointments in the United States and Europe: founding Managing Director of the Wharton Enterprising Families Initiative (Wharton School of Business, University of Pennsylvania), the Raymond Chair in Family Business (Alfred University, New York), and founding Director of the Center for Family Business and Entrepreneurial Leadership (Alfred University).

With over twenty years of business experience, Dr. Pistrui serves as an educator, advisor and consultant to family and closely held businesses, global corporations, and not-for-profit organizations. He is currently the Managing Director of Acumen Dynamics, LLC, a strategy-based education training and research firm that helps organizations align vision and strategy with execution and performance.

Dr. Scott

John Scott, Ph.D.

Dr. John C. Scott is vice president and co-founder of APT Inc. He directs consulting services in job analysis, selection, 360-degree feedback, survey design, performance management and executive assessment. An expert in the field of human resource evaluation, he is the chief architect of APT's innovative HR platform, APTMetrics. John is the 2009 SIOP program chair and is also co-editor of The Human Resources Program Evaluation Handbook, co-author of Evaluating Human Resources Programs: A 6-Phase Approach for Optimizing Performance and co-editor of the upcoming Handbook of Workplace Assessment: Selecting and Developing Organizational Talent. He received his Ph.D. from IIT in 1985.

Dr. Uhl-Bien

Mary Uhl-Bien, Ph.D.

Mary Uhl-Bien is the Howard Hawks Chair in Business Ethics and Leadership at the University of Nebraska. She received her Ph.D. from the University of Cincinnati in 1991. Dr. Uhl-Bien's research has focused on complexity leadership theory, leader-member exchange, relational leadership, reciprocity and social exchange, and self-management. She is senior editor of the Leadership Horizons series and has co-edited books in this series including Complexity Leadership: Conceptual Foundations, Follower-Centered Approaches to Leadership, and is currently working on Advancing Relational Leadership Theory: A Dialogue among Perspectives. Dr. Uhl-Bien is a founding member of the Network of Leadership Scholars in the Academy of Management, and has been active in consulting and executive education both nationally and internationally.
