Objective


The goal of this project was to design a desalination process with optimized operation.  Focus was on solar desalination by humidification and dehumidification.  The system studied consists of three focus areas: a condenser, an evaporator, and a solar energy collector.  Individual performance of these components, with system integration, was crucial in creating a final design.  Efficiency, economics, and optimal scale were also taken into consideration.
