Brief Overview of Current Casting System

Prior to the casting, the appropriate pads from the kit are determined and laid out on the table.

The patient is then situated appropriately and the kit is applied.

After the kit has been applied, allow visco elastic effect to occur, then readjust the kit and record strap tensions.

The straps are then released and creation of the cast begins.

The cast is created with layers of plaster of paris, and then the straps are reapplied in order to keep the correction.
After the front of the patient is completed and the plaster has set, the patient is rolled over and the back side of the cast is applied.
After the back has been completed and the plaster has hardened, the cast is then removed. It will later be used to form a positive mold which the brace can be formed with.
