Problem Problem

Building Engaging Educational Software
Students learn material to a significantly higher standard when the material is interesting and engaging. Edutainment is a natural solution to the problem of education. To aid students in their studies, our IPRO focuses on building educational software which also holds entertainment value. This semester our IPRO team turns our complete efforts toward an educational computer gaming suite targeted at fourth-grade students and the subjects in their curriculum.

Product Under Development
Young students often suffer from a short attention span during the learning process. Effective teachers are able to keep the students interested in the curriculum. To aid teachers at the elementary level, the IPRO carries forward the previous semester's development on a new software focused on developing core subject skills of the fourth-grade student. The product will incorporate math, science, social studies, and language arts exercises with twelve animated games. Our goal is develop a game that teaches basic core subjects while maintaining the attention of the user through entertainment.

Recently Started Product - Scholars of the Lost Exhibit
In a State by State assessment of fourth graders, conducted in 2003 by The Center for Education Reform, 38% of students were below the basic standards in reading proficiency and 24% were below the basic standards in math. Clearly there is a lot of work to be done in getting the children of America educated.
