Training refers to all kinds of training that can help teammates work
with each other effectively and to effectively communicate. These trainings
can be: project management, leadership and team building trainings,
as well as, resources that will train team members to effectively communicate
through written, oral or poster presentations. Moreover, the IPRO project
team members need to learn how to effectively communicate using video
cameras and websites. By identifying the current processes, we are able
to point out the areas that can be improved, and the assistance that
is needed for the improvement to take place. Moreover, the team needs
to identify, how the training can be effectively delivered to the students.
Transitioning refers to all kinds of processes that help IPRO team
projects, which run multiple semesters, to effectively transfer the
team work from one semester to another. Many independent things can
influence transitioning processes. They can be students, who often do
not stay with the same IPRO project for two consecutive semesters, as
well as faculty, sponsors and consultants. Moreover, a database, on
which all the documents, graphs, data and team progress are recorded,
as well as maintenance of the database can influence transitioning.
In addition, the attitude of the students may influence the transitioning
processes, because students need to efficiently maintain the database.
Identifying these processes and knowing how to change them in order
to effectively transition teamwork from one semester to another is crucial,
can increase the effectiveness of the team process, and can decrease
the transitioning period.
This team has defined current training and transitioning processes
that are employed by the IPRO team projects. In addition, the team is
ready to make recommendations to the IPRO office. If the recommendations
are approved, next semester's IPRO 339 team, will be able to design
needed trainings, and prepare resources that will later help IPRO team
members to have a positive and well-organized experience within the
IPRO project teams.
