Dr. Nemeth (Advisor)

       
Dr. Nemeth studies human performance in complex high hazard environments. Recent research interests include technical work in complex high stakes environments, research methods in individual and distributed cognition, and understanding how information technology erodes/enhances system resilience. As a consultant he has provided human factors analysis, expert witness, and product development services. His academic career has included positions with Northwestern University's McCormick College of Engineering and Applied Sciences as well as Illinois Institute of Technology. He retired from the Navy in 2001 at the rank of Captain after a 30-year active duty and reserve career. His book on human factors research methods, Human Factors Methods for Design, is now available from Taylor and Francis/CRC Press. His chapter "Healthcare Forensics" will appear in the forthcoming Taylor and Francis publication Handbook of Human Factors Forensics.
