FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM
Stipends and Allowances: The DOD will pay the fellow's full tuition
and
required fees (not to include room and board). In addition to
tuition and
fees, NDSEG fellowship stipends for new 1999 fellows will be for 12-month
tenures as follows:
1999/2000 - $18,000
2000/2001 - $19,000
2002/2002 - $20,000
The above amount will be prorated monthly based on a 12-month academic
year.
Eligibility: This program is open only to applicants who are citizens
or
nationals of the United States. Persons who hold permanent resident
status
are not eligible to apply. Persons who hold permanent resident

not eligible to apply. NDSEG fellowships are intended for students
at or
near the beginning of their graduate study in science or engineering.
Ninety percent of the fellowships in 1998 were awarded to students
who had
not yet started their second year of graduate school. Applicants
must
receive or be on track to receive their baccalaureate degrees by Fall
1999.
Applications are encouraged from women, persons with disabilities and
minorities.

HUD COMMUNITY BUILDER FELLOWSHIPS

The Department of Housing and Urban Development is accepting
applications from highly experienced, motivated individuals with strong
leadership skills for the 1999 class of Fellows. Up to 130 new Community
Builder Fellows in up to 81 cities across the country, will serve as
HUD's
front door, providing a critical link between the Department and
communities.

Also, a new cadre of specialist positions will be available as part
