Kepco, Inc., a leader in the power supply industry for over 50 years, is seeking innovative people to fill the following positions: Electro-mechanical Packaging Designers Mechanical design and packaging of regulated power supplies including switchmode power supplies. Responsibilities include conceptual design, layout, thermal and structural analysis, assembly and fabrication instructions, investigation of new manufacturing products and techniques, production support as required. Must be computer literate and experienced in AutoCAD, and familiar with UL, CSA, VDE and IEC regulatory requirements. Tool and die experience and/or knowledge of automated machining characteristics a plus. Project Engineers - SMPS Development Project engineer for product development of a broad line of switchmode power supply products including AC-DC and DC-DC power converters. Successful candidate must be an outstanding leader with strong analytical skills and hands-on approach to project management. Position responsibilities include direction of technical staff in new product development, DFM and manufacturing support, marketing/sales support including customer interface, etc. Minimum 10 to 15 years experience in commercial power supply design and development including recent PFC experience. Senior Design Engineers Design Engineer for low voltage switchmode power supplies with minimum of six years experience in power supply design. BSEE or equivalent. Position involves product design of switchmode power supplies from initial inception to production, including manufacturing support. Must have design experience in SMPS magnetics (50 KHz to 1 MHZ), switching linear and digital circuitry, power factor correction, EMI filter design, safety regulatory agency approvals, and CAD/CAE. Electronic Design Engineers Design Engineer for wide range programmable power supplies and power amplifiers with minimum practical experience of 6 years. Product design from concept to production including manufacturing support. Position requires in-depth knowledge in designing linear programmable power supplies and power amplifiers in the frequency range of DC - 30KHz. Output power from 100 Watts to 2000 Watts. Thorough understanding of electronic components used in analog designs. Transformer Design Engineers Experienced in design of power transformers, single and 3-phase, ferroresonant transformers, filter reactors and switching power supply magnetic components (up to 3KW). Should include power, signal and drive transformers, output differential and common-mode inductors, and EMI suppression components. Operating frequencies to 500 KHz, power levels from 100W to 3000W, toroidal and bobbin designs. Familiarity with various PWM and resonant topologies including flyback/boost and single and double ended forward converters. Responsibilities include design support for SMPS engineers, generation/maintenance of production drawings and processes, and support of fabrication process. Knowledge of design requirements for domestic and international regulatory agency (UL, CSA, VDE, etc.) certification. Printed Circuit Board Designer PCB Designer for product development of linear and switchmode power supply products including all post processing DFM, manufacturing and vendor support. Strong background in analog and digital design, preferably in power supply circuitry, with commercial PCB design. Must be computer literate and fluent OrCAD Layout and AutoCAD; familiarity Gerber a plus. Knowledge of UL, CSA, VDE and IEC regulatory requirements necessary. All design positions require computer literacy in which Pspice, OrCAD, AutoCAD, PADS/ECA is a plus. Test Engineers Develop, debug and document automated test software and design test interface fixtures for power supply systems. Requires experience in writing test code in "C". BSEE or equivalent. Solid knowledge of GPIB, analog and digital circuits, good communication and writing skills required. LabView and power supply test experience a definite plus.
