2. 1997 MIRAE CORPORATE SUMMER INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

The Mirae Corporate Summer Internship Program was established in 1995 by
the Mirae Foundation in partnership with its first corporate partner, the
Samsung Group of Korea, to provide qualified students with a unique
opportunity to work at a leading Korean multinational corporation.
Through the Internship Program, students gain a first-hand introduction to
the Korean business world, economy and society. By offering the
Internship Program, the Mirae Foundation seeks to contribute to the
globalization of the Korean economy and provide the Korean American
student community with the rare opportunity to learn more
about Korea.

As Korean corporations grow to meet the challenges of international
competition, Korean Americans possessing cross-cultural skills can play a
vital role in the globalization process. Through this program, Mirae and
the partner corporations seek to encourage accomplished and capable
individuals to accept this challenge. The completion of this internship
may lead to full-time employment with the sponsoring corporations both in
the United States and Korea. All of the sponsoring Groups are true
multinational entities whose operations and professionals span across the
entire globe.
