What is the 'tremere-l' Listserver?

Firstly, greetings to my brothers and sisters of the Pyramid... You and a select few esteemed members of the other clans, that are revered within the Trmere Virtual Chantry, are welcome to join the 'trmere-l' listserver.

With this list I hope to accomplish the following goals.
  1. Enhance the connections between and the knowledge of the Family & Clan Tremere and our allies.
  2. Have both IC (In Character) & OOC (Out of Character) dialog.
  3. Have information provided on both the Table-Top version and the LARP (Live Action Role-Playing) version of Vampire: The Masquerade.
  4. To make announcements about new items of interest on TVC.
  5. To Enjoy Ourselves!!! We have one of the richest Clans in terms of organization and interests - this should be reflected by our interconnectivity and support both IC and OOC.
  6. Control the Entire Camarilla and Vampiric Society... Oops... That's later... ;)

General Mailing List Etiquette.
When posting to any mailing list, the first question to ask yourself is, "Do I really need to send this to *everyone* on the list, or would it be more appropriate to e-mail the individual(s) it concerns?" Most people receive more e-mail than they really want; "spam" (irrelevant or repetitive e-mail) is even more irritating than junk mail in your mailbox at home-almost as annoying as unsolicited phone calls. Try to keep your posts brief and entertaining.
As a side note, I'd like to ask everyone who posts to this mailing list to use a conventional format with their writing, so others can read your posts without stress. That means format your posts for an 80-column width screen for the benefit of UNIX and CMS users-i.e. make all your lines 79 characters or less in length. Also, left-justify your posts, unless of course you *want* your writing to be illegible to a large percentage of your audience. :)
Starting now, make sure the subject line of your posts begins with one of two prefixes: "IC" (in-character), to indicate the post is supposedly from your character and is to be considered in-game; or "OOC", to indicate that the post is you, the player, speaking on out-of-game topics. A note on out-of-game topics: confine yourself to things of interest to players. Questions about rules are fine. Commentary on Kindred: the Embraced is fine. Plotting, planning, and bargaining about game issues is fine. Passing around petitions, get-rich-quick chain letters, or any other political/commercial material is *not* fine-keep it off this list, or you'll be getting a invitation to Vienna... One Way!
A note on in character topics please aviod post to the effect that "my clan will beat up your clan." It wastes bandwidth. As a topic (or "thread") gets discussed over time, often the discussion shifts from the original topic. In order to let people know what a given thread is about, please check the Subject: line of your messages often. If they're inaccurate, please change them. If you want to indicate that it goes with a previous discussion, then all you have to do is tack the original subject on the end, in parenthesis, with the comment "Was ," like so:
Subject: Drifting subject (Was: Original Topic)
Please provide proper quoting and attribution when replying to a previous message. Due to the volume of mail on the list, not to mention the somewhat asynchronous nature of Internet e-mail, it is most often not readily obvious which message a reply of "Yeah, I agree" (or something similar) refers to. If you are replying, please quote the applicable portions in your response, or say to whom you are responding to provide everyone a brief reminder of what you're talking about. Also, please do not send more quoted material than reply and trim out all non-essential material such as headers, signatures, and previous quotes. This means that "me-too" posts should be carefully thought out; if all you have to say is "me too," then you probably need to find something else to say along with it.
Although it's been mentioned, this is a point that bears repeating: *do not* have more lines of quoted message in your post than lines of reply that you have written (don't count your .sig.) Four lines of quoted message, one line of reply, and four lines of .sig are *not* an acceptable post, and you might find that the moderator has unpleasant things to say about it.
Remember, above all, that this list is here to *promote* the exchange of information and role-playing between members of our clan and our friends. We're here to have fun and advance the pyramid.
