►Wednesday, October 1, 2008 – Program:  Vicki Meilach, Community Outreach Coordinator for the South Suburban Family Shelter, will tell us about this organization’s lifesaving work in providing support for battered and abused women and children.  Also, any used cell phones will be handed over at the meeting.

 

►Wednesday, October 8, 2008 – Program:  Business Meeting (Executive Committee 11:00 a.m.).

 

►Wednesday, October 15, 2008 – Program:  Dr. Jim Czerwionka, slated to be Rotary District 6450 Governor for the 2009-2010 Rotary year, will discuss his Rotary trip to Nigeria and two water well projects there.

 

►SPECIAL MEETING:  Wednesday, October 22, 2008 – Program: NOT at our usual meeting place, but today’s meeting will be at Bridgeport Catholic Academy at 37th and Lowe.  Club members will participate in the Academy’s Reading To Students Day and Career Day.

 

►Wednesday, October 29, 2008 – Program:  Deputy Police Superintendent Beatrice Cuello will discuss crime, violence, and safety in our community.  Also, this is a “Visitor’s Day,” in which we invite guests to find out what Rotary is all about and to experience a typical Rotary meeting.
