The Gap Khakis TV Commercial debuted in April '98 the ad was so popular that Gap decided to start airing the ad again after a brief hiatus caused fans to write in asking for it.  It was directed by graphic artist and music video director Mike Mills.  The dancers do the jerk, the pony, and the frug to '60s-inspired track "Wild Elephants."

About the director; Mike Mills' graphic designs have appeared on CD covers for bands like Beck, Sonic Youth, Cibo Matto, Deee-Lite, and the Beastie Boys; and on advertisements for X-Girl. In 1996, Mills released A Visual Sampler: Posters by Mike Mills, a CD compilation of graphic designs to promote his art tour of Tokyo, London, and Sydney. He has also directed documentaries, television commercials and music videos.
