Welcome to my Web page.
Hi, I am a research assistant in the MMAE department at IIT. I am currently
working towards my Ph.D. in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at the
Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago, Illinois. I received my B.S
in Mechanical Engineering from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois
(1994), and my MS from IIT in May, 1997.

My masters thesis topic was concerned with the investigation of non-linear interactions
between cross-flow modes in the 3-dimensional boundary layer over a rotating
disk. Examples of data analysis in this fluid instability problem:

This is the fiberglass nozzle we built at IIT for a test in
Japan. The dimensions are 1.5m in length, 1m in diameter at the entrance, and .33m
in diameter at the exit. That's my advisor, Dr. Tom Corke, handily providing a sense
of perspective. This nozzle was built by our machine shop, on a lathe.
See the picture.
In addition to helping to design this nozzle, I also designed an actuator ring
incorporating 48 glow actuators to be used in controlling the shear layer.
