Circuit Overview - Computer data is transmitted with an electrical flow. Typical levels fluctuate between 0 and 5 volts signaling an on/off cycle. These levels are considered a Boolean logical "1" and a Boolean logical "0". Logic gates are used to control the signals. Circuits are designed using various combinations of logic gates. A simple "adder" is one example. Logic gates are the key in the development of digital circuits. Use this link to see how Hardware can be used to represent logic gate functionality. |
