We utilize our potential to facilitate NSBE's mission of increasing the number of culturally responsible Black engineers who excel academically, succeed professionally, and positively impact the community.
Greetings,
On behalf of the IIT members of The National Society of Black Engineers, NSBE, I would like to welcome new and returning members to our website. I hope returning students had a wonderful summer vacation in preparation for their semesters left at IIT and the new students are ready for the challenges that would develop them in the course of their academic study.
NSBE Is a non-profit organization founded in 1975 at Purdue University by six people. This small group has transformed into what is now the largest student-run organization in the country with Chapters in the US, Canada and Africa. NSBE is dedicated to the realization of a better tomorrow through the development of intensive programs for increasing the recruitment, retention, and successful graduation of minorities in engineering.
The benefits that come with been a NSBE member at IIT includes the following:
Networking
Academic excellence
Community involvement
Professional development
Do keep checking for information on our plans and events. This year we're focused on fulfilling our mission to be a positive force in the IIT community. Our Executive board is working hard in the planning and organization of several events ranging from social events like barbeques to academic events like study nights and scholarship application information sessions.
Feel free to email any questions you have to nsbe@iit.edu.
