I have some heavy stuff to unload and deliver to a department on campus. How do I go about doing that without getting a citation?

Persons seeking arrangements for temporary “loading” parking must consult the Parking Services Office prior to leaving their vehicle in an invalid space. The Parking Services Office will determine an appropriate parking location and issue a temporary parking tag which has to be displayed during the loading/unloading time. Drivers that do not obtain prior approval will be ticketed and/or towed. Citation appeals received for this violation will automatically be denied. To request arrangements, send an e-mail to parking@iit.edu.

1.3)
There is an area without any “No Parking” signs and the curb is not painted. Can I park there?

Valid parking areas are clearly marked around campus. If there is not a sign or a meter expressing that you can park in a certain area, assume you can not park there. In an attempt to maintain the beauty of the campus, we have not posted signs everywhere it is illegal to park. We do have signs indicating every lot and area where you can park.

3.1)
I am driving a different vehicle on campus today, what should I do about the hangtag?
Regular permit holders should register all vehicles they intend to park on campus. If a secondary vehicle is used the hangtag should be temporarily switched to the respective vehicle for that day. Permit holders that forget to bring their hangtag should obtain a one day replacement tag. Failure to do so will result in a parking violation. Permit holders are entitled to one courtesy waiver per year for this violation.Citation Appeals submitted for this reason will be automatically denied.
