PARKING ANNOUNCEMENTS
2012-2013 Parking Plan (View the Announcement HERE.)
Main Campus has implemented several changes to its parking program for 2012-2013 in effort to address parking demand. The ACaPS Office understands that these changes proved to be an adjustment. We are committed to continuously evaluating our program to deliver parking options that effectively maximize our limited parking space for students, faculty, staff, tenants, and visitors while reasonably and fairly accommodating the needs of our parkers.
The following services have been added to our parking plan through customer feedback.
Moped/Motor Scooter/Motorcycle Parking
The first official parking spaces for mopeds and motor scooters have been established in front of McCormick Student Village(MSV). View the Moped/Motor Scooter/Motorcycle Parking Policy HERE. Permit enforcement for these spaces will begin Monday, October 8th.
Carpool Registration
Carpool registration is now available. Share the cost of your parking permit and gain flexible access to prime parking locations. Contact the ACaPS Office at parking@iit.edu or 312-567-8968 for details.
Occasional Parker Plan
IIT Students, Faculty, and Staff with an occasional need to park on campus can sign up for the Spring 2013 Occasional Parker Plan. Plan participants will pay a lump sum of $48.00 for 10 visitor pay lot uses, a discount of over 50%. Visit the Occasional Parking Plan Page to sign up.
Parking Waitlist
Waitlists are available for those who were not able to purchase a permit in their first choice parking lot. Additionally, commuter students can sign up for an exchange to the A3 or D1-D2 resident lots. Email parking@iit.edu to be added to the waitlist for your preferred lot.
Extended Evening Parking Access
Main Campus permit holders have access to ALL parking lots Monday-Friday, 5pm-7am, and all day on weekends via their HawkCard ID. Reserved spaces and restricted areas are enforced 24/7.
My Parking Account
This past August most students, faculty, and staff were able to utilize the newly released My Parking Account to register for their parking permit online. The ACaPS Office acknowledges a population of our customers were unsuccessful in obtaining a permit via the online site, and we are committed to reviewing our online system and process flow to ensure a user friendly experience. At this time, our online system has been taken offline so we can make the necessary improvements and bring it back online, BETTER. New parking registrations require a paper application by scan, fax, or walk in to our office in Hermann Hall, Room 102. We appreciate your patience during this time.
