Every year at Pershing School our 7th and 8th Graders participate in the GAO project. The students prepare research projects to find solutions for problems in their neighborhoods. This school year students are researching the Chicago Housing Authority, rising gas prices, teen pregnancy, child abuse, water reclamation, music and media and a host of other subjects. These students work in groups in order to enhance cooperation and time management skills. They also have to create Microsoft Power Point Presentations, and the best projects get to present at the GAO office downtown and are treated to lunch.
