The midterm and final will be essay exams.  The paper will be a five-pager on a particular transformative technology.  In terms of class participation, each student will be expected to lead one or more classroom discussions of a daily reading, to give an oral presentation about his or her paper, to contribute to classroom discussions, and to come to class every day on time.
