NEUROPSYCHOLOGICAL ASSESSMENT

Neuropsychological Assessment involves the evaluation of cognitive abilities, including general intelligence, attention, memory, problem-solving ability, language function, visual-spatial perception, and motor skills. Results from a neuropsychological evaluation are used to identify strengths and weaknesses. We provide recommendations for a treatment plan that is tailored to the individual in order to improve independent living and vocational functioning.

Some of the conditions assessed by the Neuropsychology Service include:

•  Degenerative Diseases (e.g., Alzheimer's Disease, Pick's Disease)

•  Movement Disorders (e.g., Parkinson's, Huntington's)

•  Cerebrovascular Disease (e.g., Stroke)

•  Multiple Sclerosis

•  Traumatic Brain Injury

•  Brain Tumors

•  Epilepsy

•  Anoxia

•  Chronic Pain

•  Attention Deficit Disorder

•  Chronic Substance Abuse

•  Suspected memory impairment

•  Suspected cognitive impairment in the presence of chronic medical illness (e.g., End Stage Renal Disease, Hepatitis, Complicated Diabetes Mellitus)
